Weird Names

What's with Koreans and revealing and confessing things on TV shows made for celebrities to reveal and confess things that they've done? It sounds like a lot of forbidden fruit and naughty time... except they say things like "To be honest, _____ revealed that her favorite fruit is watermelon." I don't get it. Is it to keep the lush and forbidden nature of the Korean idol intact, so that when they do say things about themselves, using words such as "reveal" and "confess" make it all the more special and idol-like? What's the word? It puts them even more on a pedestal?
