You Are Not Special

What has irked me for quite a while is the lax way in which people relate problems with themselves by propositioning that they may have a disorder, ADD/ADHD. When did it become perfectly normal for someone to pop a few Adderalls in order for them to concentrate and talk about it like it's not a big deal? When did it become a dinner topic for people to discuss the possibility of them having ADD?

You are not special. You do not have ADD. You do not have OCD. You are not bipolar. If you really want to know what that is, talk to someone who has been properly diagnosed. It is insulting to people who are actually afflicted and who are affected by those who are afflicted to read people's speculations on what problems they may have with no true ground.

Do you want to know what it's really like to have ADD? Or what the effects of CNS stimulants are for those who are actually afflicted? You don't.
