After over a week of trying to convince PenPen to leave the safe haven of "home," he finally took the next step and walked outside! Shortly after, I realized that he might actually be serious about going out this time and grabbed my treats and put a leash on him, and unlike the other times I've leashed him he didn't lie down in a huff. It was a wonderful 30 minutes. We walked around, sniffing and (gulp) licking and rolling. And now... he's no longer beautifully white... Now he's dirty... But at least he can clean himself up.
Next step: walking without a leash!
Next next step: Going in and out as necessary!
