Cherry Season???

My mother just brought home a bag of cherries. And we washed and ate them at the dining table. And I asked her why she bought cherries in the middle of the winter... cuz, you know... cherries are a late spring/summer fruit. She shrugged, and said that she wanted cherries. They're selling them at Ralphs, Albertsons, the Korean markets... That's the wonderful thing about America. You can get all fruits any time of the year. Is that healthy, though? How much interior realignment had to go on inside that cherry to get it to produce fruit in December?

You know what fruit is really in season? Persimmons, pears, oranges, apples, grapes. That's about it. But some people got annoyed that cherries weren't available year-round, enough so that now, we have cherries in mid-winter. Yay.
